Law of Self Defense Road Trip: Safely at the Jersey Shore

Hey folks, Well the first part of my road trip is safely completed, and I'm secure at my sister's house, steak awaiting the grill and a margarita in hand.

On the way, I stopped in Brooklyn to ride over the Brooklyn Bridge--a first for this bike.  Of course, turns out the Brooklyn Bridge was closed for the weekend. So, best I could do was take a photo with the bridge in the background.

Lunch was merely a Subway Sandwich sub at a gas stop:

Fortunately, tonight's dinner is steak, potatoes, and broccoli rabe. Thanks, sis!

Tomorrow's itinerary takes me to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, where I'll cross over the Delaware Bay.  The $31 is well worth being able to avoid Baltimore and DC on my way to Quantico.  Once across the Bay, I'll get out of Delaware and Maryland as promptly as possible into still-free Virginia.

So, left home a little after 9:00AM, got here about 3:00PM--lost a couple of hours in my effort to ride over the Brooklyn Bridge--and covered a leisurely 305 miles.

Now, time for that margarita. :-)

More tomorrow.
