VIDEO ADDED: Law of Self Defense Road Trip: Cruising the Cape May-Lewes Ferry

Hey folks, Well, it was a brisk 33F when I departed Mannahawkin this morning, thank goodness for Gerbing electric heated gear.  I rocked both the Gerbing jacket gloves.

Other than the temperature, however, the weather was perfect--dry, and not a cloud in the skies. As can be seen in this video clip of me stopping at Costco to fuel up before hopping on the Garden State Parkway, southbound for the Cape May-Lewes ferry.

A little over an hour after leaving Mannahawkin I arrived at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal.  In fact, I got there early enough to catch the 9:30AM rather than 10:00AM Ferry.

Boarding the ferry was uneventful--although usually on the bike I'm among the first to board (and therefore the first to de-board upon arrival).  This time I was tail-end Charlie, albeit the boat was only 2/3 full.

Even as I was unloading from the bike, the ferry was on it's way.  Here's New Jersey falling off the stern:

And the Delaware Bay off the bow.

Upon arriving at Lewes Ferry Terminal, it'll be about 3.5 hours across Delaware, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay (and past Annapolis), and finally over the Potomac and into Virginia.
