Kind review from Don West, National Trial Counsel at CCWSafe

Well, this is indeed humbling.  Attorney Don West, who along with Mark O'Mara led the legal defense of George Zimmerman, and who is now National Trial Counsel to self-defense insurance provider CCWSafe, has written a very kind review of my most current book, "The Law of Self Defense, 3rd Edition."  Here's  taste:

I remember when we were working on the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case that there were only a handful of legal bloggers that Mark O’Mara and I bothered reading. Most of them were wrong, really wrong or just plain ridiculous in their so called “analysis” of the issues in the case. A breath of fresh air was Andrew Branca who posted at However, it wasn’t until after the case was over that I had time to sit down and actually read his articles all the way through. A couple of things came to mind…1. This guy can write. 2. This guy knows what he’s talking about.

Andrew is a lawyer and self-defense law expert. He has just released the Third Edition of his book, The Law of Self Defense, An Indispensable Guide for the Armed Citizen, and after reading it, a couple of things come to mind….1. This guy can really write. 2. This guy knows what he’s talking about. When you are learning something that could save your life, both of those things matter.

Of course, surviving a potentially lethal attack is first and foremost, but surviving the next fight, the one you face in the judicial system following a self defense shooting , is one you need to be equally prepared to handle.

There's much more, Don is generous with his praise.  To read the whole thing, click here.

Thanks, Don!  And thanks also to Mike Darter, CEO of CCWSafe, for permitting the review to be published on their site.
